Spring Came
And then came spring
And it was as if, with the
returning life,
There returned ,from the
world beyond,
All the Dreams and all the
Passions;
All the Dreams, and all the
passions which had
Lived forlove of you,
And which, in death, had
found life anew.
And, once more, there
bloomed all the roses
Perfumed still with memo-
ries of you;
Crimson still with the
Blood of your friends.
And spring came too, to
all the miseries
The remembered sufferings
of old friends
The forgotten pleasure of
the nearness of love.
And then came spring,
And open once again
All the buried chapters of
the book of Life!
And it was as if, with the
returning life,
There returned ,from the
world beyond,
All the Dreams and all the
Passions;
All the Dreams, and all the
passions which had
Lived forlove of you,
And which, in death, had

And spring came too, to
all the miseries
The remembered sufferings
of old friends
The forgotten pleasure of
the nearness of love.
And then came spring,
And open once again
All the buried chapters of
the book of Life!
Chronicles Of Hamza Ibrahim: Dast-i-Tanhai
Chronicles Of Hamza Ibrahim: Dast-i-Tanhai: "Even in the desoltae wilderness They shimmer still ... The Image etched by your words The delicate tracery by your lips And flowering still ..."
Dast-i-Tanhai
Even in the desoltae wilderness
They shimmer still ...
The Image etched by your words
The delicate tracery by your lips
And flowering still among the dead dry
leaves of distance
The jasmine and rose of the nearness of you
Here, quietly smoldering, the incandescence
of your presence
Simmering still in its own perfume gently,
gently
And there beyond the horizen, glittering drop
by hesitant drop
The honey-dew of a loving look
With what infinite sweetness the thought of
you
Brushes the countenance of memory
As if even now in the first dawn of parting
The day is done and it is the bright night of
love .
They shimmer still ...
The Image etched by your words
The delicate tracery by your lips
And flowering still among the dead dry
leaves of distance
The jasmine and rose of the nearness of you
Here, quietly smoldering, the incandescence
of your presence
Simmering still in its own perfume gently,

And there beyond the horizen, glittering drop
by hesitant drop
The honey-dew of a loving look
With what infinite sweetness the thought of
you
Brushes the countenance of memory
As if even now in the first dawn of parting
The day is done and it is the bright night of
love .
A fortunate Lot
There were Indeed a
fortunate lot
Those who found that
love was task enough
Or those who could find a
vocation they could love
I too kept myself
occupies all my Life
with a little bit of love,
and a little bit of work
And always there was
work to be done when it
was time for love
And love was naught but
a hindrance in the way of
work
And then it was enough
and in one fell swoop
I stopped, leaving love
and work both Half,
undone!
